Darjeeling First Flush Black Tea
At the end of February and beginning of March, when the climate becomes milder and more benign, the first leaves are harvested; the most eagerly awaited by tea connoisseurs keen to taste the first shipment of the year. These are very young teas which make an extremely light infusion with a fresh, floral taste. While in years gone by these varieties reached England on the tea Clippers, today they are flown in from Calcutta for the delectation of lovers of these extraordinary teas.
